It's a good thing NTL are strengthening the old shafts at the Talisman to minimize any chance of this happening there. No doubt Delahunty will try and falsely capitalize on this against NTL especially if there are some heavy metals tested so some PR will likely be needed.

With applications for "bonus" shares closing on Friday, guess we will hear how much extra is going in the kitty. With that locked away, we may see some SP movement as milestones are achieved.
GOing to be an interesting 12 months - then again, Ive been saying that for close to 15yrs.

The analysis from the orange water was on tv1 this morning and the toxicity seems more benign than first thought but much more visible than desired. Water diis-colourisation is a normal event from rainwater runoff but this didn’t look good and isn’t where anyone would want it to be. I think some people will try and make a beat up of it.
Jonu it would be really good to get a comparison between these Arsenic and cyanide levels and the levels in the rivers of the Heathcote, the Avon, the Hutt river and major rivers running through major cities.
Really the focus should be on these rivers in everyone’s back yard that everyone believes it is someone else’s fault and not the Dirt and soap after they’ve washed the car going down the drain clouding the nearby river. That might be a good reminder for the muck rakers that change starts with the man in the mirror.

    NTL top of NZX leaderboard

Did they strike gold or something?

Be nice if the company could tell us shareholders the outcome of the shortfall issue. I think it closed on Friday, so they should know by now. Even if the result was crap, lets be open with shareholders and not follow in the practices of the "old lot" by obfuscating.

Good news it's more benign than first thought. In case you missed it I've pasted in below Jonu's NZX notification (23/8/24) re NTL's activities having no role in the discharge and importantly as well how NTL is offering it's continued assistance to the authorities to secure these historic sites. Well done Jonu!

On Friday 23rd in the afternoon a section of the Ohinemuri river in the Karangahake gorge
became discoloured with a sediment. The Waikato Regional Council (WRC) has satisfied itself
as to the source of the material that has flushed into the river from old disused workings in the
conservation park. The discolouration has dissipated rapidly and even the water in the area of
the source appears to have now cleared.
New Talisman can confirm that the event is not related to any of its activities. While we will
leave the WRC to determine the cause of the material entering the river, New Talisman and
its mining contractor Terra Firma have previously engaged with the Department of
Conservation (DoC) to assist with making the many historic and disused tunnels in the wider
area secure to prevent members of the public entering and endangering themselves. We will
renew our efforts with an offer of services to both DoC and the WRC to secure where possible
the various historic tunnels and workings.
