Yes, many people want a second Trump term. Who cares if he is flawed?

In the eyes of his supporters, Trump possesses extraordinary powers that are wielded for good and against evil. What does it matter that he is rude, authoritarian or even a criminal?

Evangelicals feel that they are under siege, that their faith is under assault and their country is being taken away from them. They desperately need a warrior to save the day.
As one pastor put it “I want the meanest, toughest son of a gun I can find.”
Evangelicals love Donald Trump because he promises to save them from their enemies.

Not all Trump’s supporters are evangelical. For many part of his appeal is that Trump “says the things we are too afraid to say." Many right wingers resonate with Trump's bluntness and willingness to voice controversial opinions that others might shy away from.

Trump's supporters often view him as a figure who articulates their frustrations and fears regarding societal changes, political correctness, and perceived threats to their way of life. This is particularly evident in the context of his rhetoric surrounding issues like crime, immigration, and cultural identity.
Trump is known for promoting anti-immigrant, misogynistic, isolationist, racist, nativist, homophobic, and transphobic beliefs.

All true, but Trump also went after people like John McCain as McCain was a threat to his taking over the Republican party.
Republicans should have seen that as a warning to them and dropped Trump there and then.
Hopefully you find my posts helpful, but in no way should they be construed as advice. Make your own decision.

His personal morality is similarly unsuited to office. He has told more than 20,000 lies in the course of his presidency, and continues to lie about matters that he believes will advantage or disadvantage him. he is an adjudicated rapist, with a long and abundantly documented history of abusing and degrading women.
Trump supporters express concerns about moral decay primarily related to perceived threats to traditional values and societal norms. Supporters feel that the integrity, honor, and decency they value are under siege.

Trump supporters believe that the political and cultural landscape has shifted in ways that undermine the values they hold dear e.g. political correctness, perceived attacks on religious freedoms, and the normalization of behaviors they deem immoral, such as promiscuity and disrespect for authority.

There is a pervasive fear among Trump supporters that the left's agenda threatens the very fabric of American society. This includes concerns about immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, and progressive social policies, which they believe contribute to moral decline. Supporters often see themselves as defenders of a traditional America that is being eroded by these changes, leading to a sense of desperation and urgency in their political engagement.

To cope with cognitive dissonance regarding Trump's controversial actions, supporters often employ denial and rationalization. They dismiss negative portrayals of Trump as unfair attacks or "witch hunts," framing him as a victim of a corrupt system. This narrative allows them to maintain their support while reconciling the contradictions in his behavior.
Trump supporters often emphasize loyalty, authority, and sanctity, which align with their views on national identity and cultural preservation. This perspective influences their interpretation of morality in a way that justifies their support for Trump, despite his controversial actions.

The moral decay that Trump supporters are concerned about is deeply intertwined with their views on cultural identity, perceived threats from progressive movements, and a belief in a moral struggle against corruption and immorality in politics. These concerns are shaped by factors that prioritizes loyalty and traditional values.
