No need to drill for more gas?
    Two birds with one stone?

"In 2021, 25% of the natural gas in the Danish gas grid was biomethane.
Denmark is using biofuel to achieve its target of using 100% renewable energy for all energy uses by 2050. Biofuels provide a large share of energy sources in Denmark when considering all sectors of energy demand."

Interesting. I googled Denmark. 85 percent, yes 85 percent of the biogas in Denmark is produced from animal poo from intensive farming. It's all about the amount of raw fuel product to make it economical. I. E not govt subsidised thing.

In NZ the greenie won't allow intensive farming (only chickens.)

Good idea, but at this stage probably very uneconomical in NZ.

Am I on the right track?

Of course IFT and James Shaw are probably running the ruler over such things.

Danish bacon is big in the UK. The UK imports 60% of its pigmeat, and Denmark is the biggest supplier. I am not sure what has happened post Brexit extra red tape etc.

    And this idea?

"“Farms could actually be the future power plants of New Zealand. Rather than large scale solar farms or residential panels, farms are a medium scale solution.”

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/rural/350297...+1+August+2024

    Solar & micro hydro

"Casey used two methods to reduce the cost of energy on his property.

“I spent the first five years electrifying 21 machines on the cherry orchard. Now we don’t use any diesel or gas or petrol on our farm. We are 100% electric.”

The second phase was by generating his own electricity.

“By generating electricity we have a form of energy sovereignty on the farm and we drive down our energy costs.”

So far he has saved $40,000 per year for power. If he sells his excess power and reduces demand at peak times he could make another $20,000 each year."

Echelon (old NZO) has signed a contract with the NT Government to takes its gas until 2020 at today's prices. Australia is in the same hole as NZ but the Oil and Gas producers are drilling holes daily looking for gas ( and oil as a bonus).

Gas is needed more than ever in order for renewables to work. And gas (or coal) can produce the heat levels necessary in manufacturing other metal products.

Add the energy boom demand from AI and technology then being in the energy sector should me more exciting than ever.

Unfortunately this is backward NZ, as usual we do not have the capital to throw at expensive solutions.

Kupe. I would like to see the Government throw a package at the stake holders to share the risk and drill again..

Being an Echelon shareholder, it's obvious to see the increase in in management and shareholder confidence from focusing in Australia and moving to the ASX.

GNE doesn't need any new flash expensive ideas. They just need gas. And preferably from Kupe.

52MW currently generating from diesel..... the fuel of last resort. Its 3pm on Saturday, so demand isn't high. Maybe a planned outage of transmission equipment into / in Hawkes Bay?
