Coster to be gone in 2025.
One of Ardern’s disastrous appointments - crime, especially violent youth & gang crimes, exploded under him with the clueless and hopeless ‘policing by consent’ allowing criminals to roam & offend freely.
Let’s hope the new police commissioner appointed will bring back law and order as a priority rather than the pro-criminals and the woke ‘policing by consent’ garbage propagated by Ardern & Coster.

Like inflation this crime spike is not unique to NZ but I concur on your sentiments re Coster - far to woke for me.

Sounds like your starting to see the light Tim. He was woke as that's what your Jacinda wanted.

I “woke” up to Costner very early on.

Apparently, there are 14 layers of bureaucracy in Te Whatu Ora according to Luxton and Reti - from CEO to the patient - and this is causing the problems.
Why do they need to exaggerate? Luxon should know he is talking rubbish.
Reti may not know, he isn't the CEO extrodiare.
He said
Reti, asked about what those 14 layers were, and said the organisational chart he'd seen "is just mind boggling. I could not name the different layers of way finders, pathfinders, boundary spanners - Lord knows what else - from A to B".
Says a lot about his understanding really.
They seem to be spending most of their time trying to discredit the previous Govt rather than fixing anything.

I don't see any evidence in your post that Luxon and Reti have exaggerated. Why would Reti be able to rattle off all 14 layers of crap created by others? Labour left one hell of a mess that they managed to make worse by throwing in more and more cash and spending on more and more managers who it would appear achieved less and less. Sickening. Meanwhile Robbo wangles himself a payrise to do bugger all in a woke haven that was once a proud learning institution. Otago Uni will be stuffed before you know it.

So the layers are
1. Chairperson and Board
2. CE
3. Chief of Staff
4. National Director Hospital and Specialist Services
5. Regional Director Hospital and Specialist Services
6. Group Director Operations
7. General Manager
8. Service Manager
9. Manager
10. Assistant Manager
11. Team Leader
12. Team Supervisor
13. Team Member
14. Patient
'Between CEO and Patient wouldn't include the CEO (or board) or the patient - so that makes 11 at best.
From a management perspective, no one ever includes the board or the person giving the service (the 'Team Member').
Also, are the Team Leader and Team Supervisor actually line management positions? Looks like a few made-up positions in there from a line management perspective.
Further, Reti said
He said he would ask Levy to send the chart, and there should only be six layers of management.
"Six ... because that's the advice we've been getting from experts who are helping us with the change management. An organisation of this size should have roughly six layers between the chief executive and the patient."
So, for consistency, going by their '14' layers down to 6 layers that would leave something like
1. Chairperson and Board
2. CE
3. Regional Director Hospital and Specialist Services (since they have already said that they want regional leaders)
4. Team Supervisor
5. Team Member
6. Patient
Look a bit thin to you - especially for a staff of 80k.
I find that it muddies their message by using exaggerations as they often do.
Did they exaggerate on the $130mil per month?
Luxon said that he knew of overspends in October but Reti only knew of them in March - and it takes a further 4 months to address them?

Well put Dobbie41
Hopefully you find my posts helpful, but in no way should they be construed as advice. Make your own decision. ![Thumbup](images/smilies/thumbup.gif)

And now you're guessing what their 6 layers will look like. How about acknowledging that Luxon and Reti are fixing up a monumental cockup only Ardern and Robertson and whichever unfortunates in her "most diverse" (and useless) Cabinet ever, were capable of. Why attack the poor sods who are left to clean up the mess?
