    Default Santana minerals (smi)

Santana minerals listed today on the NZX the Aussie mining company looking to pull gold out of central otago. With under 20k of shares traded in the first hour,it might not be the start they are after.I was expecting a release of good news prior to commencement.

    I suspect due to this

    1) Being a dual listing from ASX, rather than a 'brand new' listing - and
    2) Many NZs that want to hold already do through ASX

Might be contributing to the subdued initial trading.

For myself falling into both categories, I will be following with interest.

I hold a handful via Sharesies. Got an email from them yesterday saying:

We’re getting in touch to let you know that Santana Minerals Limited (SMI) has received approval for its secondary listing on the NZX Main Board Market, allowing it to be traded on both the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX).

As a result, you have the option to transfer (shunt) your ASX-listed SMI shares so they can be traded on the NZX.

I hold these on the ASX via Sharesies. They sent me an email to transfer to NZX if I wish. Sounds sensible to me. But I will bow to greater knowledge if anyone knows a reason I should instead leave them on ASX? Or does it not really make a difference?

Well the exchange rate is pretty favourable at the mo,the only negative I can see would be the lack of liquidity on the NZX
