Does anyone know what will happen to ARV bonds when (if?) the scheme is approved? I had a search in the 100 page document but could find no reference to any repayment.

I suspect the reason you found no reference to what will happen to the ARV bonds as a result of this takeover is that nothing will happen. When MET was taken over the MET bonds remained listed. The only reason why people think something will happen is because there has been a lot of talk recently about the Synlait SML010 bonds on this forum, and whether those would be repaid early. But these Synlait bonds are liable for early repayment only if certain triggering events (like defaulting on certain banking covenants) are met. Since ARV are not in loan distress from a bankers perspective, there would be no reason whatsoever to expect the ARV bonds to be repaid early.

At the end of the day, $1 ish was definitely too cheap - have said this since day 1 almost 10 years ago and today's take over announcement further emphasizes this.. should really be sold for over $2, but will probably be sold for less given there's alot of short sighted investors (not helped by over ambitious management at times) on the nzx, and there always has been for a number of decades now

Now all retirement village sector is up. Should we buy more ARV and vote for NO ? Ask they to lift up the bid. The MGT try to sell the egg at the bottom, both in share price and business cycle. NO WAY!

agree, management haven't exactly covered themselves in glory. But there is a better scheme if you think $1.70 is too cheap. Sell ARV now at $1.61 and buy OCA early 70's and wait for OCA to re-rate accordingly.

for institutional funds, they placed large bids around $1.60. if the result is yes, then they may have some profit around 6.25% ($10c/$160c) within couple of months. If the result is no, the bid price may increase by say 10%, 16.25% for 3-4 months.

I noticed ARV major shareholder is Forsyth Barr, and it purchased a parcel of RYM off-market on 30th of May. It was the bottom. Now, you bet it may sell or just hold?
