    Something up?

I would too if in similar position, in case it goes belly up - call it a trading proposition ? Wouldn't you ?

could be a strategic position to make any incoming marauding bandits think twice, then again a play might pay off handsomely if done differently than Foodstuffs managed .. a nice blocking stake & awaiting time to talk bargain turkey in seas where the retail pirates come tall with extensive chests of treasure seeking their prizes

My prediction one of those 3 will close and that one will be the one 25 metres from K Mart
Depends on when the lease for TWH upstairs expires - could be hard to find a replacement tenant for that floor space.

That store also doesn't have any self service - annoying if you only want to pick up some $6 eggs and there's a queue.

TWH also occupy most of the downstairs through TWS and NL so closure of TWH upstairs could have an impact on those stores too.

I am not sure that timezone observation you make is representative. I called into that central Hamilton WHS store on a weekday morning last year. Got quite a nice cooked breakfast there in the cafe on the ground floor (presumably a sub tenant of the Warehouse). The car park seemed quite full then. But it looked like more of a weekday destination, rather than a place to head on a dull Sunday afternoon. I imagine most of the customers are weekday city workers.

More likely the latter in my opinion.

Probably a combination of a new hope that the interim CEO comes in and turns things around and the positive news that interest rates maybe lowering soon to stimulate market spending, which the warehouse will likely benefit from.

The Australian Dataroom speculating that Tindal and Adamentem Capital Partners are working behind the scenes on a possible buyout of WHS. Behind a paywall but here’s the link https://www.theaustralian.com.au/sub...haviour=append
