Didn’t take Baldy very long at all to sort out the cancer drugs after the f*ck up when tax cuts were delivered.

Good outcome in the end. A damn shame he didn’t prioritise it in the first place.

The rest of the drugs promised will be funded too before long I wager.

Indeed.. meanwhile the aftermath of some of the f*ck ups from Labour's watch were never properly sorted by them & continue to linger like a bad stink long after Lab & Greens have been sent packing ')

Yes, the long shadow of the last Labour govt will be a challenge for the new govt to deal with for sure.

But we won’t be able to blame Labour forever.

And the cancer drug c*ck up was all Luxon. Cindy didn’t need to help him with that one!

Hey mistaTea it's a coalition. The influence of NZ First and Act on decisions doesn't give Mister Luxon a free reign. Either of those parties cold walk away from the coalition at any time.

I see, so it was Winnie and Seymour’s fault too that National broke their election promise.

Good moves by govt to tighten up on the discounts Judges have been giving. It’s all just gone way too far the other way.

In all Derek’s pontificating he never once mentioned that poor girl raped at on knife point, the offended only getting a couple of years in clink.

    Indeed.

The sentences dished out in Australia, Canada, USA, infact just about everywhere else make what our
Judiciary hand down in NZ Courts look a complete joke .. as close to aiding & abetting criminal activity as

Time to make any parole a hard earned rare privilege, any sentencing discounts similar, with further focus on the victims, extracting nearer the full price due to Society.

Yea there has got to be a balance in there somewhere.

Just locking people up and throwing away the key is not the answer.

But neither is the bs we have seen in recent years where judges seem to be doing everything they can to reduce sentences when very serious crimes have been committed. We have gone way too far the other way whereby victims are essentially just shat on.

The current situation is just outrageous frankly.

So although I don’t want to pendulum to swing back all the way to the other extreme, I am hopeful that this new govt will be able to narrow the scope of discretion that these Judges have to ensure appropriate penalties are being sentenced.

    Poor old Maiki Sherman.

National and NZ First both went up 2% in the latest polls.

She was denied an opportunity to froth at the mouth and gloat, unlike last poll.

Not to be denied, she crossed to Bentdick Collins, who replayed some old footage of Chloe and one or two others negativity to the budget.

She really did come across as somewhat disappointed, again in her overly earnest and opinionated style of reporting which doesn't mask her bias at all, it highlights it!

I do think that she thinks, and bear in mind she got promoted to chief political reporter for TVNZ, we viewers are all morons and can't see through her earnest opinionated entreaties and body language. Maiki and TVNZ might be well informed to stop treating their dwindling audience like morons, and focus on balanced unbiased journalism and reporting ... without her "opinion". You did hear her say "in my opinion" didn't you?

TVNZ public news funded by the government, is not place for journalists and reporters to express their personal opinions. We don't care or want to know what they think, and it undermines and diminishes the value of the subject or article reported on.

She/they just don't seem to 'get it', ongoing repeated bias in media that anyone can see is consigning their commentary to irrelevance.
