Right? I'm not sure crypto currencies were even a thing the last time we had a decent correction. In my (admittedly) limited understanding, crypto currencies have only ever existed in a bull market. Nobody has seen how this class of 'assets' will perform in a general market downturn. When I first heard of bitcoin, I was under the impression that it was a kind of currency. Lately I kind of see crypto as a way for people to speculate and I don't think I'd trust it as a market indicator. Happy to be proven wrong though, and would welcome any education this forum could provide.
Bitcoin market cap is currently twice as big as New Zealand's GDP, give or take a bit. Just thought I'd mention that.
Some simple research will show you how correlated Bitcoin has been to US stocks for a while now, and most certainly outflows occurred prior to stocks crashing.
Yep.
Your educative summary on Crypto as posted is already very concise and complete. I can't add anything more except to say it is worth some reputation points for you. A post to bookmark for the future, for the education of others.
