Bear market is over?
Think the damage is already done the bear is still waking up out of a long sleep.
I agree with more downside. I see us in the 4th wave here with another pull back to come. I’m picking 7300 on this next move just looking at the technicals.
After that I have no idea but I imagine we will have a sideways market for a longtime yet on the NZ50.
Who has the most cash, the least debt and the greatest to offer this new era?
Back to basics I guess. Everyone needs power, we will continue to ship goods in and out of the country...people will still get old and need somewhere to live.
Trying to find a reason to buy AMP. Anyone getting in here?
Nomura predicting tick-shaped recovery
Attachment 11185
looks a bit V-shaped to me.
I very much struggle with the V shaped idea.
Take this for example:
All NZ's bars, clubs and restaurants have closed, some never top open again when things finally start moving again they are not going to have everyone lining up to come back and spend that money they haven't spent in the shutdown period.
These loses are permanent.
Now take the above and think about what other Goods and Services are in the same boat...
One thing in NZ's favour is we are not holding massive debt and this will soften the blow but I still think the chances of a depression are very high.
One stock buying pattern I find interesting is people new to the game just jumping on companies with near 0 growth potential once the market recovers anyway... quite an interesting approach. Or even worse buying companies that are going to be severely crippled by the recent events and may have a lag period of 1-2 years before returning to its "normal" sp range.
Im thinking market may go lower but the indiscriminate selling maybe over. No more panic, but shares bought or sold on their fundamentals which will deteriorate over time, for many stocks at least.
Hard to imagine anything that would make the market panic like it did last week
