There is no comparison with that company winner69. Might pay to do some research on what IOT is, but in plain english it is simple electronic devices gathering data and sending it via the internet to a storage place where other systems interpret the data. Have a read of the GE Connect website and note the smart cities, offices and retail examples. http://www.currentbyge.com
The Plexure platform will take a bulk real-time data feed from the GE Connect 'Predix' platform (not directly from the GE Connect IOT devices), which sources customer tracking data from the GE beacons, in this case within malls and retail stores. Plexure then does it's thing smashing that data into real-time actionable insights for marketers to drive their consumer marketing campaigns.
The big deal as I see it is that Plexure have with GE at a minimum, a Global player marketing the Plexure solution and beyond that providing new pipelines of prospects and customers globally, hence ACMR and revenue. The GE Connect partners are here with Plexure amongst them. http://www.currentbyge.com/partnerships/
We may hear more about that from the 'GE Minds + Machines 2016' event in San Francisco Nov 15/16.
To be fair Cobber, PLX just looks desperate full stop, the share price has gone positively nowhere in the past 2 years, looks like they will miss their ACMR guidance too
The point being baabaa is that Rakon did rave about how great the IoT was going to be for them - even if it only to create a bit of razzamatazz and give the market (and company) the warm fuzzies
Sounds like the same motivation for PLX coming out with their announcement
Thanks for the lesson anyway. Nothing new
I was in awe when in the early 80's when some dude connected a Coke machine to the internet to monitor how many cans left. And earlier this year a mate showed me how Johnny Walker sent stuff to his mobile from a sensor in the bottle. Cool eh. And i never get around to telling the heat pump to fire up on the way home.
All IoT stuff and Plexure taking advantage of it .....but still not convinced they will ever make decent money out of it
Interesting story winner69, I hear you and the other voices of caution. With the SP at 3-year lows ($0.0088 equivalent pre-consolidation) ... that's less confidence in the company with FY16 $6.6m revenue, now $7-$10m ACMR, than when VMob reported HY13 $90k revenue and a 1478% expenses to revenue ratio.
Must be some news about capital raising soon
Hope they don't leave it too late - cash runway getting pretty short now.
Clare Capital publish a table of cash runways on a regular basis. Their latest table had IKE / PLX / WYN with the shortest cash runways as at September. WYN crashed .....PLX must be pretty close to running out of cash by now ......that's why I was wondering when they might announce something

No news cannot be good news.
Interim report out today.
Must say that I'm not convinced about a company where 40% of their expenses (87% of operating revenue) are labeled "Other operating expenses". Could do with more detail on that.
And yet again, still only got 4 months of cash runway left... of which two of those months have passed. I'd feel a bit more comfortable about this company if they could manage to raise more than 6 months of cash-burn at a time (currently trying to raise $3.5m). Precarious future at the moment.
So actually actively trying to hock the company off. Shareholders might accept 30 cents to stop the misery
Added a liitle bit to previous announcement they have -
We are continuing to engage in discussions with prospective US-based strategic investors. We have now appointed a US based external advisor, who is undertaking a process to identify and evaluate appropriate potential US investors, and will assist Plexure to consider its strategic options and the potential transactions that may be available to it. This process will be broad ranging, and the Company may discuss, and potentially pursue, investment proposals that extend beyond issuance of new capital, including strategic alliances or the acquisition of all or part of Plexure’s existing share capital.
There is an obvious, but surprisingly not mentioned here, discrepancy between the CEO's update 28 Sept $7.1m ACMR and the HY Report $6m ACMR (30 Sept basis).
I hope the company clarifies this quickly as both are a very long way from guidance of $10m ACMR. No wonder the SP is buggered on the buy side with bids at half of the current SP! PLX had plenty of good warning, make guidance or get hammered.
PLX really do need to start considering how their market messaging is being interpreted by shareholders. To introduce consideration of a 'buy out' option in the HY Report is imho a white flag capitulation to the more than obvious puppet master Microsoft, who are making plenty large $ on their Plexure Azure hosting, probably way more that Plexure make themselves.
The minnow in the shark pool. It really looks like that it's almost all over for PLX as a listed company, but way too soon. Hopefully Scott, VIX and the Directors aren't open to selling at such a modest return on their current vested capital and forego the prospects and future of the company by selling out.
That would also f*** all current shareholders at the current SP. Why on earth would they even mention, let alone consider a buy out! What a cop out!
Maybe Microsoft do a white knight buy out at 5x or 10x SP ... seems unlikely, why would they at historical low SP and bids at half SP??. More likely they corporate raid PLX with a modest few % above current SP. Despicable!
Scott and Phil need to get on top of this quickly, their company and their future prosperity, and shareholders, seem destined to being highjacked for a pittance, unless they deal to it now.
