Maccas qtr result out last night with a surprise upside compared to consensus. Cramer is talking here: http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000488550 about new tech being used in drive through in Australia and hinting that the new tech rollouts (VMob having an effect but behind the scenes?) will improve earnings. I am wondering if this is an under the radar trial. Watching with interest...
Good to see Cramer making such explicit reference to 'technology' as part of the McD's global turnaround.
McD's in November provided an update on their turnaround plan; "we are gaining momentum by focusing on our customers and what matters most to them - hot and fresh food, fast and friendly service, and a contemporary restaurant experience" http://news.mcdonalds.com/Corporate/...urnaround-Plan ... similar phrases have been uttered by VMob
In today's Jan 25 announcement of Fourth Quarter And Full Year 2015 Results, there is the tantalising reference to "Generating sustained, positive guest traffic remains a top priority for the segment" which is the sweet spot for VMob to contribute. http://news.mcdonalds.com/Corporate/...d-Full-Year-20 There may be more about this in the 4Q '15 Earnings Conference Call Webcast http://www.aboutmcdonalds.com/mcd/in...5_webcast.html
Exciting post for us holders - thanks Baa Baa!
I do like their shameless use of coffee to drive app usage: http://www.mcdonalds.com/content/us/en/mobile_app.html
And it's interesting to read how Microsoft views the strategic VMob business partner relationship. This article references more about what VMob has done with McD's, how it is driving business value, and interestingly how tightly woven VMob's platform is into the Microsoft Azure and related products. http://blogs.microsoft.com/iot/2015/...er-engagement/
Some cheeky sod on the VerItas thread has pointed out Tim and Sharon's connection with VML
Hope Tim not to distracted and both not bringing bad luck over to VML
I hope that was tongue in cheek - what did I do to deserve being called a cheeky sod for pointing out the commonality of directors?
I think its a useful point to make - the same people who can't get guidance right for a relatively static business like food, bev and food processing are now being asked to approve forecasts/guidance/budgets for a company whose sales model could potentially explode upwards, or stay static for some time to come, and whose cash burn is equally variable depending on whether they are selling or not.
Sorry yeshiva - yes tongue in cheek and no offence intended
Yes a useful point to make, that's why I bought it up on this thread
And that Tim's firm - Cook Executive is also recruiting for VMob's CFO as well the VIL CEO and CFO...

Maybe Cook Executives' website needs updating because on Dec 1st they announced https://www.nzx.com/companies/VML/announcements/274383 the appointment of Stephen Davies to the role of Chief Financial Officer and started this month.
CEO gets selected as one of three finalists for the New Zealander of the Year Awards in the category "NEW ZEALAND INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR" - Scott Bradley, VMob (Auckland).
