For what its worth . A brokers report(something beginning with C ) out.
HOLD price target $2.43. "Govt looks to throw ball back in CNU'S court"
"Locked in the worst form of uncertainty a while longer"
"Can game of chicken and egg still lead to some form of assistance" and
"peak shortterm uncertainty as factors in CNU'S control limited to retaining/raising cash.
One of the other things that's worrying is the speed test results that have come out. Lower speeds compared to the other roll-out partners.
I wouldn't worry about that too much Mr Trix. You can be sure that the technology is more than capable of reaching the specified speeds. The constraints could be anywhere is the overall chain. Just a fun time for the media to publish what would otherwise have been a "middle pages, hidden off to the side somewhere" article.
...wonder if these people from the com-com are in any way checked how many shares they buy on decisions like that....
Anyway, am I correct to conclude that if everybody takes up UFB = business as usual for Chorus, because that, what's gonna happen down the track!!!!!
After all, Muldoon warned Kiwis of the switch from mono to stereo radio, arguing its gonna spread moral decay through society.
Anther fact is that no one uses dial-up anymore after ADSL , although one could hear the same argunents then as today re: ADSL/UFB
So feel free to sell, am quite sure a lot of the sellers today will kick their behinds down the track like usual
Kind Regards
Ananda77, Why would your average household want to take up fibre when coppers cheaper and getting faster? What if the independant enquiry shows up that chorus doesn't need Govt intervention if it changes capital structure and reduces or cuts dividends completely? How high will the share price then go from its current levels?
...honestly couta1, have no answer to most of your question as am not thinking that way
But Yes, a dividend cut is likely...and that should be no surprise as the possibility was outlined in the original investment statement and com-com intervention always a reality.
However, it appears to me that at least a 50% dividend cut is already factored in into the current price.
Kind Regards
