Does anyone have a cheap and simple way of investing in US/UK markets. Custodial fees and brokerage is an expensive option via NZ brokers. Custodial fees lock you into that broker. Lets say you want to purchase shares in some global giants like APPL and maybe some ETFs etc. Also what is the cheapest way to convert NZ dollars into US dollars? Or is it best to do all this thru NZ brokers. Thoughts appreciated.

Ig.com allows you to trade us/uk markets using cfd's. This is more suited to short term trading. I use it for Uk stocks. It costs 10 pounds per trade ( up to a certain value)
