The rural sector in Aussie is starting to get interesting.
The Chinese are making a play for this sector. First it was NUF and now CSR sugar division. I am certain there will be further consolidation in this sector. Bring it on!
Lets get our thinking cap on and come up with some good rural sector stocks to watch.

Great thread topic Doc,
If you took the strategy buy whatever the Chinese want you would have done very well last year and looks like the Chinese are casting their eye over the rural sector.
Fast growing populations in India, China and other past of Asian simply equals more mouths to feed.
Fertilizer companies will play their part in this story. Incitec are the top fertilizer suppliers in Aussie but sp isn't trading cheap at 16 times earnings. Take a look at MAK, strong financial position and got an exciting Rock Phosphate project and several other exploration targets.

Took me a while to track this down in the history, interest reading.

Jim Rogers Video discussing Agruciltural Commodities on CNBC
http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232/?video=1386246206&play=1
"I don't think that the problems of the world are behind us yet, he said.
Investors shouldn't bother with stocks because commodities are likely to win in both the optimistic and the pessimistic scenario, Rogers said.
If the economy rebounds, commodities prices will rise because of increased demand, while if the economy continues to be weak, central banks will keep printing money and commodities will be used as a hedge against inflation, he explained."

I bought AAC the other day, been watching it for a while.
From memory, NTA is about $2.60 per share.

I too have been watching AAC, but have not yet dip my toes in. I do hold ELD and AWB.
I hear the cattle auctions are getting better in Aussie.
AAC up, directors have been buying and cattle futures are up 11% since July in the USA.
The US national herd numbers are at the lowest since 1963, grain prices are up, drought in the Northern Hemisphere and you can't just open up the tap to produce more cattle.
Looking good for AAC

I found a small agriculture company that might benefit from the renewed interest in the sector, FWA - worth keeping on watch.
Needs to increase in size & scale as margins in the sector aren't flash, but plenty of upside
