I imagine many pondering an apartment purchase who also saw that recent TV series investigating NZ apartment quality may have suddenly gone a little tepid on the idea.

And even if you're lucky enough to buy in a solid rot free building, general maintenance alone costs a fortune. Perhaps better to rent and invest in a scaffolding firm.

MET had issues with leaky buildings. Hopefully KPG have learnt from others’ mistakes and have a quality product. They are not cheap tariffs! I added to my holding yesterday. Go Drury!

leaky buildings now a day are generally only from shoddy workmanship. Anyway wonder if kpg will get more demand from trust owners when tax rate goes up to 39% as trust investing in kpg will only pay 28%

Many trusts I think distribute to beneficiaries, and the income is taxed at the beneficiaries’ rates. However DYOR. The NZ tax system however does need an overhaul.

Wouldn’t expect one between earnings releases? Just have to stick with our lowly 8% gross yield for now.

In other news, Government yesterday introduced legislation to allow foreign investors to invest in build-to-rent developments.

This means KPG has a lot more potential partners to work with (or to sell to if it wanted to at some point)
